Great FINDS

One of the greatest discoveries in higher education administration for me is the StrengthsQuest program through Gallup Inc.  I have had the opportunity to be trained as a Strengths Educator and lead the Strengths Training Team at my college.  The program is based in positive psychology using the philosophy that individuals gain more when they focus on their strengths than when they make comparable efforts to improve their areas of weakness.

The program involves taking an online assessment.  You can obtain a code by buying one of the strengths books sold through Gallup Press or Amazon.  I have used this program with students, faculty and staff successfully to empower them.

  2. I had not heard of this program before you mentioned it earlier. As I think I mentioned, one of my very early doctoral graduates worked with Gallup many years ago and worked with might have been a predecessor of the StrengthsQuest as he administered something somewhat similar to clients when he went out to help them. I think I also mentioned that my worked for a sister of the original Gallup one summer in the late 60s when she was a student at Iowa State University. I hope to find the time to take the online assessment once I have my grades in. Rog
